We are based in Farringdon in the Centre of London and Central Edinburgh. We have roles available working with both our core workforce management product and our recently launched fastPAYE app.

We use agile methodology and continuous integration to manage our development cycle. We work in various sized Scrum teams, who work closely with our product owners. We develop using the Laravel framework and are looking for candidates of all levels to join our team.
We create bespoke Workforce Management and staff scheduling solutions for operators in the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors. We provide this via a cloud-based, SAAS model and are now on version 3 of our platform, which has evolved to efficiently deal with the demands of a “bespoke SAAS” model.
We are embarking on an ambitious redesign of our front-end architecture and are looking for passionate developers to join us at this exciting time.
The role will include, but not be limited to;
● Creating readable and scalable front-end products that adhere to the specifications provided by the design team.
● Improving existing code to bring it up to modern standards.
● Documenting new and existing code, using the tools provided.
● Using our Design System to ensure consistency across the platform on multiple devices.
● Provide fully tested code.
Our Design System has been created to enhance the communication between the design and development team. We have defined a solid base of reusable components that are used to make up the various screens of our platform. We use the right tools, for us, that help us be productive and more creative when making our products. All parts of our design system have been introduced to make the transition between design concept and production ready code, as smooth and painless(and fun) as possible.
We follow a test-driven development approach to software development, we use Jest and Enzyme for our unit testing and Puppeteer for our end-to-end testing. We use ESLint to help with code styling.
You will be required to follow the guidelines set out while developing, this includes providing full test coverage of your code and adhering to the coding standards.
• 2+ years of software development and best practices.
• Good experience in unit testing, using Jest/Enzyme (or similar).
• Good experience using modern front-end technologies like ES6, React JS and comfortable writing modular JavaScript code.
• Good experience working with REST APIs
• Familiar with up to date React coding standards and patterns.
• Able to effectively review other developers code and contribute with constructive feedback on code style, naming and solution design decisions.
• Good knowledge of GIT workflows and comfortable using advanced GIT command line tools (rebase, bisect).
• Excellent communication and team collaboration.
• Hands-on experience working with Lean/Agile software development practices.
• Experience with visual test-driven development (Storybook or similar) approach is a plus.
• Experience with Material UI/JSS is a plus.
• Experience with Webpack 3, Yarn and/or other build tools is a plus.
• Experience with Zeplin.io and Sketch Cloud is a plus.
• Experience with Design Systems is a plus.
• Experience with Puppeteer is a plus.
• Experience working in workforce management product is a plus.
• BS degree in Computer Science or similar.

This position will require you to follow a Test-Driven Development approach to software delivery and include all levels of automated tests within your development pipeline. This means we expect you to be able to write optimized and testable code and grow our existing set of automated tests: Unit, Integration, End-to-end tests.
