Accommodation, Catering and Events (ACE) is a department within the Corporate Services support group of The University of Edinburgh. Their large catering department needed a system to manage staff scheduling.
Their strategic goals are to achieve excellence in all they do and a vision to be ambitious, bold and to act with integrity, to adapt and work in new ways and to deliver positive change.
The Solution
With a workforce of c.250 from across the globe, working across 30 geographical locations, a diverse range of contract types and complex pay rules; ShopWorks has pulled together the management of holidays, scheduling, payroll and overtime processing, Visa limits, etc. under one roof.

The Result
ShopWorks has provided a transparent solution with a robust audit trail, a useful dashboard and a strong reporting suite. Implementation has been smooth.
Given the complex university contract types and pay rules, accuracy in their bespoke payroll exports has taken a bit of time to achieve. It has been, however, time well spent.
As they enter their 4th year with Shopworks, Managers using the back office and employees who use the portal are strong advocates of the system. They are hoping to rollout the ShopWorks solution to other parts of ACE.
