Work force management for the retail and leisure industry
Talarius chose Shopworks to power their staffing needs;
Talarius has become the first chain of Adult Gaming Centres to install the Shopworks automated staffing system setting a new trend in the sector that is well established in high street betting shops and Casinos.
Talarius were looking to improve their processes for scheduling staff, approving salary costs against budgets, payroll and staff communications. The Shopworks system empowers the shop based staff to create their own rotas via an online interface which then updates a central database. Once the rotas are checked against budget and approved the staff are sent an SMS of their rotas, any changes for sickness or late arrival are tracked via the database and staff are kept informed of their shifts. At the end of the month an accurate and quick upload of the data into a payroll system ensures that there are very few complaints about payslips saving time and money in the accounts department.
Mike Hennessy, Business Development Director of Shopworks is in no doubt that Talarius will quickly see the benefits; “Our customers use us to save money, improve operational efficiency and also communicate more effectively with their staff” says Mike “we recently completed the roll out of a system into a chain of 20 or so betting shops and their monthly staff costs went from a Pre-Shopworks £99,600 to an average £92,300 in the first two full months after implementation. That’s not unusual and represents a saving of over 7% on the staff cost for a product that cost nothing to install and around £8 per shop per week”
Gary Holburt of Talarius is excited about working with this new system “ Talarius are always looking to build on our high staff morale and ensure that efficient shops are well placed to look after our customers. Shopworks will allow us to do both and deliver considerable savings at the same time.”
