ICE 2012 - How The Shopworks fared
We’ve been going for just over 3 years now, so we decided that it was time to pitch our tent at the biggest gaming show of the calendar year – ICE 2012 at Earls Court. We booked a stand, L1-226, in November and started the process of letting people know that we would be there!
Most Companies use the exhibition to conduct meetings with suppliers – the ample supply of bars, coffee shops, meeting rooms were testimony to that – and we decided to endorse that tradition, with e-mail invites to all our customers. We also used the Shopworks twitter feed, @theshopworks, to get the message across that we would be there and where we were.
And where were we? Well, ICE used the 2nd level of the Earls Court exhibition Centre for the first time, in the last year before the exhibition moves to the Excel. This meant that although we were away from the main body of the exhibition, we were in a section that allowed us to pitch our product in a slightly quieter area. And did we pitch! Tuesday and Wednesday, the day with the highest amount of visitors, flew by – we had many pitches on each day, with potential customers from retail, bingo halls, arcades, casinos, poker clubs - with customers who had time to sit and view the products that we were offering. It definitely helped that we had space and time to talk to our prospective clients.
When not pitching, we played one of our 6 videos on our laptop or logged onto our website, www.theshopworks.com, which we had recently updated, and where you are reading this blog from.
We did need help to let others know that we were there. We had someone was going about the exhibition, speaking to prospective clients, advising people on where we were, letting them know what we do and exchanging business cards with people.
This was all about building leads, making contacts, introducing people to us – and there was no better place than ICE 2012!
We’ll see you next year, in the Docklands.
